Leading open source BI - suite enters Finnish markets

Eximia Business Intelligence Oy has entered into partnership with Pentaho (http://www.pentaho.com), global leading open source Business intelligence (BI) suite creator. Eximia is the only official provider in Finland for Pentaho’s product portfolio, including reporting, analytics, dashboards and ETL-functionality. Great Place to Work institute announced results for the survey for year 2010. Eximia was selected as 13th best workplace in Finland (small companies category, 15-50 employees). Also as a result Eximia is best positioned Business Intelligence company in the whole list. This was the first time Eximia was taking part of this survey and one of the main strategic goals for upcoming years is to make Eximia even more better and enjoyable place to work. BO Data Integrator added to service portfolio

Starting from 4.9.2009 Eximia Business Intelligence is now providing system integration services with new ETL (Extract Transform, Load) tool: Business Objects Data Integrator. This new technology addition to service portfolio is one part of Eximia's strategy to extend competence in SAP Business Objects products, among with other leading reporting tools. Year 2009 and Business Intelligence

How do you see Business Intelligence scene develop during year 2009? As most of us know, year 2007 was pretty exceptional watershed for the BI business. We saw biggest BI vendors being acquired by larger IT companies (IBM and Cognos, SAP and Business Objects and so on). Also we have seen Oracle and Microsoft to push more focus on DW/BI business with the updated Databases: Oracle with Exadata and Microsoft preparing next generation MS-SQL Server. For sure consolidation among BI vendors will continue and we will see new buyouts already during 2009. One very interesting topic to follow up during 2009 is Open Source Business Intelligence. Open Source BI developers are getting more and more attention in scene. One of the biggest drivers is ofcourse worldwide economics situation, which pushes companies to find more cost efficient solutions.
